The roll of honour on the War Memorial in the church is detailed opposite. Our archivist is currently researching the First World War casualties and compiling a short history of each. He has also extracted details of Avening residents from the 1841-1901 censuses, and has transcribed many baptism, marriage and burial details from 1700 onwards.
